The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) has elected new national office bearers following its annual general meeting.
Some familiar faces have returned to the top echelons of the organisation.
Long time Sahuc member Shaheen Essop has been re-elected as President while Sheikh Adam Macheso takes up the role of 1st deputy president and Shiekh Riad Fataar as 2nd deputy president.
Hafez Hassan Choonara has been elected as Secretary General and Hafez Moaaz Casoo as Assistant Secretary General.
The position of treasurer and assistant treasurer will be headed up by Hafez Bilal Saloojee and assistant treasurer by Asif Essop.
Three other members were also elected as board members by the general council including Hafez Ismail Kholvadia, Qari Moosa Seedat and Yusuf Cassim
Sahuc says the chairmen of the provincial committees of the Hajj body for Johannesburg, KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town will be appointed after the regional AGM which is expected to take place within thirty days from the national general meeting.
