Police are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder after six people were shot dead and another wounded by a group of unknown suspects in Folweni, KwaZulu-Natal.
It is understood the individuals were shot inside a house in Mngadi Road on Sunday night.
Police say they were alerted to the shooting by the community at the house where they made the grim discovery.
The police’s Jay Naicker says the motive for the shooting is being investigated.
“Six bodies, which consisted for four men and two women aged between 26 and 32, were found inside the house with multiple gunshot wounds. They were all declared dead at the scene. A 27-year-old woman who was still alive when police arrived, was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.”
Naicker says the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has condemned the incident and has appealed to the community to come forward with information that will assist in identifying those behind the killings.
