Don’t be afraid of change.
These are the words of renowned and esteem Islamic scholar Mufti Ismail Menk.
Too often people tend to become complacent with what they have and have achieved that the goalpost is no longer in sight and the motivation stagnant.
This may apply to your faith, academic achievements, career and many other aspects of your life.
It is sad that once the mundanity sets in, people are bound and become and become prisoners in their comfort zone and do not realise that one small step can be one giant leap.
Mufti Menk said that change can be refreshing.
“”Don’t be afraid of change. At times, you need to overhaul your life to see your steps ahead. So whatever you’re experiencing, don’t be afraid to start over. This time, you’re not starting from scratch but you’re starting from experience.”
Mufti Menk also reminds us that nothing is too small or too big for the Almighty.
“Just ask Him. He never gets bored listening to your prayer.”
So, whether it is becoming a better Muslim, eliminating bad habits or even a career change, the motivation of a being on a road less traveled may be just what you are looking for.
