A group of armed criminals have broken into two homes in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.
In the first incident, armed criminals broke into a home in Robin Avenue, Extension 1 robbing the residents of an undisclosed possession and valuables.
A short while later, a a group of armed suspects broke into another home in Hydrangea Avenue, this time in Extension 4.
The suspects fled the scene after robbing the home owners.
It is uncle the same criminals broke into both homes.
In recent weeks, the crime rate has spiked in Lenasia with a number incident reported including hijackings, business robberies and even murder.
Residents have expressed concerns at the high crime rate and have urged police, the Community Policing Forum (CPF) and elected ward official to address the scourge plaguing the suburb.
