[WATCH] Fire Breaks Out at Waterkloof Airbase in Pretoria – Blaze Contained

A fire has broken out at the Waterkloof Airbase in Pretoria.

It is understood that the blaze started just after 7pm on Sunday.

The South African National Defence Forces (SANDF)  Brigadier General Andries Mahapa told the SABC the cause of the fire is being investigated.

“The fire we are grateful it has been contained, there is no reason for alarm, everything is under control.”

Mahapa said said the blaze started at the pumps station above ground.

“We assume it could be a technical fault, but we cannot make that determination now because the investigation must continue tomorrow.”

Mahapa said no injuries have been reported.

This is the second fire at a national key point after a fire broke out at the Parliamentary buildings in Cape Town earlier this month.
